They feel like i am wearing running shoes. They also offer lot of ankle support. I have not twisted or rolled my ankles since I have been wearing these boots. They are a little uncomfortable at first with the tongue of the boot. I have worn standard military issued boots for the last 8 years, and I have never worn a military boot as comfortable as this. I ordered a pair of these last spring and true to other comments, they were comfortable right out of the box. Within 6 weeks, the heal portion where the actual heal joins the uppers came unstitched on one boot. Within another few weeks, the same happened to the other which kind of defeats the whole reason I wear them (to keep dirt and sawdust out of my sox). After only 5 months, the soles are shot, the heal padding is disintegrating on both boots and the previous problems have gotten worse.On a positive note, the laces have lasted FAR better than any other boot I have used but I have ordered a different pair to replace them.  waivering oppinion, This review is from: Men's Altama� 8" Tan Desert EXOSpeed II Boots (Apparel) I bought these boots just before a month long training exercise last June... I deployed in September and by November they were getting holes where the stitching was coming undone... I bought a pair of Rocky's in Dec, but by march the rocky's were starting to hurt my feet and I switched back to the Altima's... around May, the seam on the heal started ripping open.. and a couple days ago (July 7th)I threw them away as the heal was undone enough I could stick 3 fingers all the way through the boot. At the point of throwing them away the sole was worn completely flat.All this was with wearing these boots on an almost daily basis... sandy desert in June, office setting in July-Aug, and rocky/gravel/desert in Sept-July (and my job is paperwork and to sit in trucks going from point A to point B)... they are VERY comfy right out of the box and, until this pair of boots, I have NEVER had an issue with the quality of Altama boots.
