Picked up one of these Lasko Misters for a Memorial Day Barbeque we were hosting - when the temperatures were supposed to be in the 90's and there was a "Heat Warning" for our area. I HATE hot weather and spend most of my Summers indoors with the A/C on.We set up the Lasko Misting Fan as we were getting ready for our guests. The mist definitely made me feel cooler... but I did notice the deck was getting quite wet near the unit. We tried adjusting everything - the tilt of the fan, the level of spray (3 levels) and the amount that our hose was turned on. Nothing seemed to keep the deck from periodically getting wet - sun and wind would temporarily let things dry up but it kept puddling. So we set it up just off our deck on a ladder - that way most of the 'excess' water fell on the bushes along the deck, and only a light spray got to the deck and the things and people on the deck. I received this as a gift and I have to say that I am not completely satisfied with the performance. Recently used the Misto and the unit sprays out too much water. The group and the entire table were literally soaked, even though I made the only afforded adjustment possible (turning down the pressure to the unit). Called Lasko to advise of the experience and they inquired as to whether the unit was pulled back far enough from the table. Yes, it was and even used different fan speeds to no avail. Lasko needs to make interchangeable plus that reduce the amount of water out of the unit or retro-fit plugs that can be adjusted directly on the unit itself. What a shame...I was really excited about this and now it has to go back. If you're running by the unit and need a quick spray, then this is for you. If you're looking for something along the lines of what you get outdoors in Cancun or Cozumel, you'll be sadly disappointed. LASKO...please provide this simple fix.
